Mountain View, Santa Clara County
Shoreline Amphitheatre opened in Mountain View in 1986 under a pair of white tent peaks. Promoter Bill Graham built it with the city on land reclaimed from a landfill beside the bay. The same project created Shoreline Park, where a sailing lake, a golf course and miles of trails now cover the old dump.
